Palliative Care Roundtables

Strengthening relationships.

Palliative Care Tasmania (PCT) facilitated opportunities for decision makers, sector representatives and the Minster for Health to come together to discuss priority issues associated with implementing Communities of Care and building the palliative care workforce.

The Roundtables held in November 2021 and May 2022 were attended by over 30 key stakeholders. Important discussions regarding strategic priorities for the palliative care sector occurred between senior representatives from key organisations and the Tasmanian Government to support positive and solution-focused outcomes.

Bringing decision makers and sector representatives together to discuss priority issues associated with implementing Communities of Care and building the palliative care workforce

Discussions from the roundtables were collated into a communiques for the Minister and members to progress palliative care initiatives. Palliative Care Tasmania also advocated for specific initiatives through processes including (but not limited to) State Budget submissions, Australian Government grants and philanthropic funding.

Palliative Care roundtables were held:

  • November 2021
  • May 2022

The next Palliative Care Roundtable will be held on November 18 2022 as a private workshop at the 2022 Tasmanian Palliative Care Conference.
