Resource Launch - This is Grief

Introducing our latest resource “This is Grief”

We are very excited to share with you our new grief resource for adults and families. Ever since the release of our children’s book, What is Grief?, we have been asked if we would make a book for adults. This is Grief is a gentle guide for individuals and families navigating loss. It is informed by the stories of 58 Tasmanians who have experienced profound loss, and the hundreds of conversations the PCT team has had with the community across Tasmania. The initial feedback we received from the community was amazing!

Before sharing this resource more widely, we invited our community to share their thoughts on the book. The kindness and encouragement we received was truly uplifting. Here are just a few of the reflections people shared:

“I felt you have captured our shared stories of grief extremely well. It is such an important resource, just to be able to understand grief and that it is ok to be talked about.”
“As a bereaved mum, this resource brought tears to my eyes in a good way. It made me feel understood, validated, and less alone. Explaining how others could support is amazing too.”

For Tasmanian people and organisation the resource is free of charge. For anyone outside of Tasmania a small fee applies.

What’s in the book?

This book offers a gentle companion through the experience of grief. With beautiful illustrations, it shows what grief can look and feel like in different moments. Along the way, you’ll also find quiet spaces to pause, reflect, and simply breathe.

  • What is grief?
  • What can I expect to feel?
  • Is what I am feeling normal?
  • Will it get better?
  • What helps?
  • How do I support a child or young person?
  • How do I support someone through grief?
  • Where can I find professional support?
