2025 Election Priorities

As our letterboxes, inboxes and social media feeds fill with promises, photo ops and campaign pledges, those of us working in the community continue delivering essential services. Quietly. Daily. Often without certainty about what’s next.

That uncertainty is destabilising. But some things should not be up for debate.

Supporting Tasmanians who are sick, dying and bereaved should be a bipartisan, non-negotiable commitment.

Every single person in this state will be impacted by death, dying or grief, directly or indirectly. It is not political. It is reality.

Palliative Care Tasmania has outlined clear, evidence-backed election priorities that we are calling on all parties and candidates to support.

These include:
– Statewide grief, loss and bereavement support
– Funded end of life navigators/connectors
– A palliative care workforce strategy
– Investment in carers
– Better palliative integration in aged care and
– Fast-tracked reforms for the community services sector.

The need is real, growing, and unavoidable. We are ready to partner with the incoming Government to build a system that is future-fit, compassionate and equitable.
