2025 Annual General Meeting

October 29, 2025

Palliative Care Tasmania (PCT) held its 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Tuesday, 28 October, at the PCT Head Office. The event brought together members of the PCT Board, staff, lifetime members, financial auditors, and representatives from community organisations, with several participants also joining online.

We sincerely thank everyone who took the time to attend, including those who travelled from interstate to be part of the meeting.

Board Chair Sally Faulker opened proceedings with a warm welcome and an Acknowledgement of Country before presenting the PCT Annual Review 2025.
Chair of the Finance Audit and Risk Committee Ari Magalhaes reporting a strong financial position and outlining updates to accounting standards and how PCT has adapted its reporting to ensure full compliance. Members accepted the financial reports as presented.

The meeting was reflective and emotional, marking the final AGM for Board Chair who retired at the AGM and also acknowledging retired Board Director Andrew Glenn and outgoing Chief Executive Officer Veney Hiller.

Sally shared, “It has been an honour to serve as Board Chair and to work alongside my fellow Directors, Veney and our passionate team. Together with our members and partners we’ve achieved so much together and I am confident PCT will continue to grow and thrive.”

Veney added, “The past five years at PCT have been the most rewarding of my career. Working with our Board and the incredible PCT team to lead so many important projects has been a privilege. I’ll always carry this experience with me and continue to be one of PCT’s greatest fans and supporters.”

Members also voted to appoint Dr Vitor Rocha as a full-time Director and to reappoint Ari Magalhaes to the Board. Deputy Chair Tim Johns will be Acting until the next Board meeting on November 24 when the new Chair will be appointed and announced.

On behalf of the PCT Board and team, we extend our sincere thanks to everyone who participated in the 2025 Annual General Meeting.
