Growing the Palliative Care workforce and community

Community and Information HUB

Being part of an engaging community gives us a sense of belonging. It enables us to share personal relatedness and support the perpetual growth of each other, ourselves and our industry.

PCT will undertake the development of an outward-facing digital platform Information Hub that provides professional development opportunities, online training/education and information in one place. A network for all those working (paid and unpaid) in Communities of Care across Tasmania, connecting people through stories, resources and opportunities.

There are hundreds if not thousands of palliative care resources scattered throughout the internet, information aimed at every aspect of palliative care. The HUB will consolidate these resources and make them available in a single location to the entire palliative care community. Information gathering, professional development and general palliative care research has just become much more efficient. Imagine all your resources in a single location.

There are plenty of other information repositories available, but what makes the PCT HUB unique is that it will enable you to participate in the communities of care directly, a safe space to connect with others and explore all things palliative care.

Relationships are a key part of communities: people can foster new relationships and strengthen their existing ones. HUB members can come together to meet common needs, share their experiences, and contribute to a collective knowledge base. The HUB is an opportunity for the palliative care community to thrive and determine its needs and resources. The palliative care community will take ownership of the HUB and steer its growth and future.

The HUB will provide Communities of Care with a sense of purpose, belonging and connection. Together we can exchange ideas, solve problems and support each other.

Let’s create a robust community that will grow the industries access and awareness of all things Palliative Care, such as:

  • Workforce development
  • A Palliative Care Sector directory
  • Events
  • Education
  • External Services

The HUB will be showcased at the 2021 symposium and officially launched in January 2022.
