This is Grief

This is Grief is a gentle guide for individuals and families navigating loss. Ever since the release of our children’s book, "What is Grief?", we have been asked if we would make a book for adults. Palliative Care Tasmania has worked hard to create a new grief resource for adults and families.

The resource is informed by the stories of 58 Tasmanians who have experienced profound loss, and the hundreds of conversations the PCT team has had with the community across Tasmania. The initial feedback we received from the community was amazing!

Thank you to the brilliant Stephanie Spartels, who put her whole heart into the design and illustration, the Tasmanian community members who generously shared their stories, our incredible sector colleagues who reviewed the resource, the whole PCT team who have contributed to this resource, and the Tasmanian Department of Health for funding this important work.

What’s included in "This is Grief"

This book offers a gentle companion through the experience of grief. With beautiful illustrations, it shows what grief can look and feel like in different moments. Along the way, you’ll also find quiet spaces to pause, reflect, and simply breathe.

We aim to facilitate equal access to our resources
Equal access to resources is hugely important to the PCT Team. These books are available free to all Tasmanians and Tasmanian organisations, hospitals, and schools. If you are living outside of Tasmania, you can access free PDF versions for print and screen, or you can order them from us for a small fee.
