Palliative Care Tasmania offer free education sessions for general practitioners and practice nurses to build on their existing knowledge and skills relating to palliative care, end-of-life care and advance care planning. Training has been specifically designed to support general practitioners and nurses working in general practice and primary care in Tasmania to implement a proactive, systematic, team-based approach to initiating advance care planning and palliative care into everyday practice and care provision for patients and their families.

The sessions include general, non-clinical information, resources, case studies and our education team encourage open discussions with participants to talk about real life experiences. We suggest undertaking all three education sessions to ensure your team have a thorough understanding of palliative care, the service provision in Tasmania and legislation.
