PalliCare Fundamentals Unit 4: Healthy Ageing & Nutrition in Palliative Care (Health Professionals)

• Lifestyle factors to reduce cognitive decline and dementia

o Comfort and nutritional requirements at End of Life

o Artificial nutrition and hydration

o Using appropriate language

Aligns with standards:

• National Palliative Care – Care standards: 1, 2 and 4

• National Palliative Care – Governance standards, 7, 8 and 9

• ACQS: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 7 and 8

This unit will assist you and your organisation in meeting standards related to: Supports for daily living that optimise the person’s independence, health, well-being, and quality of life as they define it. Holistic care and assessment of need based on best practice and person-centred care. Organisational governance.

Suitable for:

Focused for Health Professionals but also suitable for Aged Care, Volunteers, Carers, HACC or CHSP providers or those interested in learning more about palliative care.

 

Pallicare Fundamentals Program

This unit forms part of the Pallicare Fundamentals certificate program, which consists of 6 units. Each unit can be purchased individually or as part of the course. Participants can attend individual sessions but can only receive the ‘PalliCare Fundamentals’ certificate if all 6 sessions are completed.

Investment:

PCT Member: $165.00 (in GST) for the course or $33.00 (in GST) per individual unit.

Non-Member: $275.00 (in GST) for the course or $55.00 (in GST) per unit. Includes resources.
