Palliative Care Tasmania’s Speaker Series is a mix of local national and international industry experts covering specialty palliative and end-of-life topics.

Speakers are selected to inform both the sector and the community and include presentations from professionals, interactive sessions, and robust conversations.

We are excited to announce Leah Robinson from TerryWhite Chemmart as our first guest for our 2022 speaker series. Who will be presenting and discussing Expanding the Role of Community Pharmacists in Palliative Care.

Community pharmacists are one of the most underutilised clinicians in palliative care.

Leah Robinson the Central Operations Manager of TerryWhite Chemmart will share their innovative and successful “Pledge to Palliate” initiative. You will hear how with expert professional education and consultation from Professor Liz Reymond, over 1000 community pharmacists are being educated, and how over 180 TerryWhite Chemmart pharmacies are now stocking anticipatory medicines.

Learn how participating pharmacists have also collaborated with other palliative care providers in their communities, with the goal of assisting palliative care patients to remain in their homes as long as possible. Leah will share the impact of this initiative on real people who have graciously shared their first-hand experience in providing and receiving end-of-life care
