Bequests
Your support strengthens our impact
Your support is vital in helping us empower our community, develop the palliative care workforce, and continue being the leading voice for palliative care in Tasmania.
As a non-profit organisation, we deeply appreciate the generosity of donors like you.
Your contribution will directly impact the lives of those we serve.
Every contribution helps ensure Tasmanians have access to quality palliative care when it matters most.
Leave a lasting legacy with a bequest in your will
Thank you for considering a will or bequest donation to Palliative Care Tasmania. By including us in your will or trust, you can have a lasting impact on the causes that matter most to you. Your generosity will help us continue to make a difference in the lives of those we assist.
- It is an important step to talk to family and loved ones about your will. Communication will ensure your final wishes are carried out.
- Give us the opportunity to say thank you. By telling us you have included a gift in your will, we can recognise you investing in the future of palliative care in Tasmania.
- We always recommend you seek advice from a solicitor when drafting your will. The wording is very important, and your solicitor can advise you on the different types of gifts. See ‘Making A Will’ for the recommended wording.
If you’re considering leaving a gift to Palliative Care Tasmania in your will, we would love to talk to you and hear about your experiences.

Making a will
I’m using a Solicitor:
If you need to make a will, it is best to consult a solicitor who is experienced in wills and estates. The cost to do this varies significantly, don’t be shy to shop around and get an estimate of fees up front.
I’m doing my own will:
If your estate is not complicated, you may prefer to create a will yourself. Palliative Care Tasmania recommends you seek professional advice when creating a will to ensure your will is valid.
If you are kind enough to be including a gift to Palliative Care Tasmania in your will, you should use the following wording.
“I give to the trustee for the time being of Palliative Care Tasmania Ltd the sum of $……./or……..% of the balance of my estate to be used for its general purposes. The receipt of the Palliative Care Tasmania Ltd will be sufficient discharge to my Executor/Trustee and I declare that my Executor/Trustee shall not be responsible for seeing to the application of that gift”.
